The CFHD, partnering with the IOM, noted rapid increase in displacements in both urban and rural areas of Zimbabwe during implementation of past projects. It therefore collaborated with the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing in conducting a national stakeholder validation workshop on the Human Settlement Policy in Zimbabwe which brought together national stakeholders to deliberate on the draft policy and ensure citizen voices and views were correctly represented in the draft policy document which is in the final stages.

During the workshop the Hon. J. G. Moyo had this to say, "I dream to see smart settlements that are well planned, managed and governed and that foster social inclusivity, resilience and grandeur, anchored on ICTs, renewable energy sources coupled with blending aesthetics."
